Lory Manrique-Hyland, author of Revolutions (Lilliput 2004) and regular contributor to the Irish Examiner’s feelgood section, will lead a Fiction Writing Workshop in Civic Trust House, Cork City this summer. The six week course is aimed at amateur and aspiring writers of both long and short form fiction, including flash fiction, short stories and novels. The format includes lecture, discussion and writing workshop. Each week, attendees will have a chance to present their work and receive critical feedback. Topics to be covered include: giving and receiving critical feedback, theme, text analysis, the writers’ marketplace and writers’ perspectives on writing.

About Lory
Lory has a B.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from NYU, an M.A. in Creative Writing Literarture from the City College of New York and a Certificate in Training and Development from the Irish Institute of Training and Development. She has been in national press and media in connection with her novel and with discussions on Cuba. She's also appeared at literary festivals and readings throughout Ireland. Her teaching background includes teaching writing and rhetoric at university in New York, teaching Fiction at the Munster Literature Centre in Cork, and years of experience as a professional trainer in Ireland and abroad.
